Peter Harris

Peter was trained as a Mechanical Building Services Engineer at BT and Ferguson & Partners in Bristol during the early 1980’s. He moved on to become a Regional Director at Ewbank Preece and led their South West Regional Operation from Bristol during the 1990’s.

More recently Peter was an Associate Director at WYG in Bristol where he led a team of Building Services Engineers, working principally in Education, MOD and with Private Clients. In 2014/15 Peter was Chairman of the Great Western Branch of the Forum for the Built Environment in Bristol.

Peter joined Silcock Dawson in September 2012 as Regional Director to manage the Bristol Office, and brings with him considerable experience in the Education, Leisure, Retail and Commercial sectors. The Bristol Office of Silcock Dawson is now thriving with projects in the Education, Leisure and Residential sectors remaining strong.

Peter has a strong influence on how the team conceive projects, he is committed to sustainable design solutions and feels that a "Fabric First" approach is the right way forwards, he is keen to design buildings that have self moderating climates and reduce their reliance on fossil fuels. He feels that the current generation of engineers have a unique opportunity to influence how buildings are put together and how they will effect carbon emissions for the next 50 years.

Outside of work Peter is a keen golfer, and enjoys watching sport with his family and friends.
