To complement their ongoing corporate room re-branding, famously featuring the colour purple, Silcock Dawson are assisting clients Whitbread plc with introducing a hint of green into the bedrooms of their Premier Inns, in the form of heat pump technology, to provide both winter heating and summer cooling.

Each hotel is assessed for the best system by considering location, letting profiles, existing service provision and many other factors.

This assessment has resulted in a variety of systems being utilised, including through-the-wall units, although the majority of hotels refitted as part of the 2008 programme have been selected for the latest VRV (variable refrigerant volume) systems, that incorporate heat recovery technology to lower fuel requirement even further.
